Meet Eli Woody
Eli is a veteran public school teacher, a proud husband and toddler dad, and common sense Democrat. He is an athlete who has played a list of different sports (baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball, track/field) but currently enjoys running the most, to stay in shape and level-headed. Above all else, he wants more working class people to get involved in politics and run for office. Because there are enough rich and privileged types who are gaming politics to work in their favor, and not enough regular, everyday people who are fighting for solutions to the real issues facing us daily. Eli is also biracial (the son of a Black man and white woman) and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Not only will he be fighting for common sense solutions in the statehouse, his personal, lived experiences make him the best fit to represent the beautifully diverse Wyandotte County.
